Version 2026-06-30
Rotary Blood Donors is a community blood-donor directory run by the Rotary Club. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
1. What we collect
When you register as a donor we collect your name, email, mobile number, blood group, availability, optional last-donation date, and your area.
2. Why we use it
Solely to let people who need blood find and contact willing donors near them during an emergency. We do not sell or advertise with your data.
3. Consent
We process your data only after you tick the consent box at registration. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your profile (below), which removes your data from the directory.
4. How your contact details are shown
Your mobile number is never displayed in lists or pages. It is revealed only when someone deliberately taps “Call” or “WhatsApp” on your card. We rate-limit these reveals to discourage misuse, and provide a “report” option on every profile.
5. Your rights
You can view, correct, or permanently delete your profile at any time from My Profile. Deleting your profile also deletes your account and personal data.
6. Retention
We keep your data only while your profile is active. Once you delete it, the data is removed from our records.
7. Grievances
For any privacy concern, contact the Rotary Club organisers listed on the About page.
This is a community project and not a medical or emergency service.
